KOP Opatija Defends Croatian Beach Volleyball Cup Title
The senior team of KOP Opatija won the Croatian Beach Volleyball Cup this weekend in Čakovec.

The draw was not in their favour, as they were matched against KOP Žnjan in the quarter-finals, one of the strongest beach volleyball clubs in Croatia. Nevertheless, KOP Opatija secured a convincing 2–0 victory. In the semi-finals, they faced an even tougher opponent, KOP Siget, which had finished ahead of KOP Opatija in last year’s Croatian Championship.

After a closely contested match, KOP Opatija advanced to the final thanks to a superior set difference. There, they met KOP Štinjan and claimed a comfortable 2–0 win, successfully repeating last year’s achievement of winning the Croatian Cup.This year's success is even more significant as it was achieved exclusively with home-grown players, who will also represent the club in the Croatian Club Championship, a competition consisting of 14 rounds.

Representing KOP Opatija in Čakovec under the guidance of coach Ivan Đorđević were Ivan Vuk, Domagoj Babok, Davor Bogdanović and Antonio Juras.
